The partners of Hodgson Pratt & Associates announced the appointment of James R. Pratt, Jr., CPA, MST, as managing Director of the firm. Jim will succeed John Hodgson, Jr., CPA, CFP, who has served as the Managing Director of the Firm for the past 33 years. John will continue his partner and client service responsibilities within the firm.
Jim received his undergraduate degree in accounting from UMass Dartmouth, and his Masters in Taxation from Bryant College. A member of the firm for the past 19 years, Jim was named Partner in 1997, During this time his responsibilities have included Director of the Firm’s Tax practice.
Jim is active in community affairs in Southeastern Massachusetts. He serves as Vice-President of the New Bedford Country Club, and is Treasurer of the Greater New Bedford Chamber of Commerce and the UMass Dartmouth Alumni Association. He also coaches basketball and soccer in youth leagues in the community.
